Draft — pending legal review

These terms describe how we actually operate and are provided in good faith, but they have not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. If anything here matters to a decision you are making, please ask us and we will confirm it in writing.

The principle

Do not use our services to harm other people, and do not use so much of a shared server that everyone else on it suffers. Almost everything below follows from those two ideas.

Not permitted

  • Anything illegal under Philippine law.
  • Child sexual abuse material. This is reported to the authorities immediately and the account is terminated without notice.
  • Phishing, malware distribution, or pages impersonating a bank, a government service or another business.
  • Unsolicited bulk email, whether sent from our servers or advertising a site hosted here.
  • Attacking other systems — port scanning, brute forcing, denial of service.
  • Hosting material you do not have the right to distribute.
  • Online gambling, and the sale of drugs, weapons or other goods and services that are illegal to sell in the Philippines.
  • Using a shared hosting plan for cryptocurrency mining, public file distribution, or anything else that consumes a shared server's resources continuously.

Shared resources

Shared hosting is exactly that: several sites on one server. A plan's stated allowances are what your site can rely on, and a site that consistently exceeds them degrades the service for its neighbours.

If your site outgrows its plan, we will tell you and help you move to a larger one. We would rather have that conversation than throttle you quietly.

What happens if something is reported

  1. For most issues we contact you first with what was reported and a reasonable period to fix it.
  2. Where content is actively harming people — a live phishing page, malware being distributed — we may suspend it immediately and tell you afterwards. A phishing page collects credentials for every hour it stays up.
  3. Repeated or deliberate breaches end the service. Where that happens, the service is not refunded, as set out in the refund policy.

Our upstream providers and registries apply their own abuse policies to the services we resell, and can suspend a service themselves. We will tell you if that happens and help where we can, but we cannot overrule them.

We cooperate with law enforcement and courts, and may preserve and disclose information about a service when the law requires it.

Reporting abuse

If something hosted by us is being used to harm someone, tell us at support@weblab.ph with the URL and what you observed. We take these seriously and we answer them.
